Fixing a corrupt database

In the event of an incorrect shutdown, such as a power failure on your machine, it is possible that your database could get corrupted.

The best solution to this is to ensure that you always have a current backup of your data and install a fresh copy of Craft Maker Pro.

If you do not have a current backup then you can try the data recovery process that is recommended by Filemaker (the software Craft Maker Pro is programmed in).

The steps to recover a corrupt file are simple:
*Even succesful recovery may still leave errors within your data. Be sure to check your data after recovery thoroughly
  1. Hold down the control key and the shift key (cmd+shift on mac), and keep them pressed.
  2. With the mouse double click (left click) the CMPro program file (not the database file, the actual program file .exe on Windows .app on Mac)
  3. Keeping the Control and Shift (cmd+shift on mac) keys held down you will see a new box pop up, and it will ask you to find the file that you need to recover. (This new box might be hidden by the screen you are currently using, so it might appear as a new windows tab at the bottom).
  4. Select the file, and it will recover the file. It will save the old file with the word "OLD" in it.
  5. Check for errors in the database manually.
